8 Simple Exercises To Reduce Lower Body

1. Side Lunges:

Lunges are usually thought to be working our inner and outer thighs and glutes, but they indirectly exercise the calves as well. Here is how you can do it.

How to do:

  • Firstly, stand with your feet and knees together. Then, take a large step towards the right side.
  • After taking this step, drive your weight down to the right side.
  • Stay in the position for about two seconds.
  • Come back to the original position and repeat the process with the other leg.

2. Lunge Twist:

How to do:

  • For beginners, it is very good as it helps reduce the lower body fat very quickly.
  • Here is how you can do this exercise: Stand with both the legs apart keeping both the hands aligned closely with the body.
  • Move a step forward with the right leg, bend at knee and stretch a bit and keep your torso (body) straight.
  • Similarly, repeat the step with the left leg.
  • Do this exercise for 15 minutes.

3. Leg Drop:

How to do:

  • Lying on your back bend at your knees and hips so your legs form a right angle.
  • Keeping your back pressed to the mat, slowly lower your right leg until your toe touches the mat.
  • Then slowly return it to the starting position.
  • If your back starts to arch, stop at that point.
  • As your abs get stronger, you will be able to go farther.
